Many oil producers are experiencing similar increased rates of production-tubing corrosion as the water cut increases. We established the parameters that affect corrosion and developed a mathematical model that works as a predictive tool. This tool is based on a database of field conditions and evaluated tubing logs.

The software models have been highly successful for predicting well-tubing problems, and the operating company has used it to prioritise its workover activities.
