Chevron was interested in using corrosion-resistant-alloy-clad carbon steel for an offshore flowline to minimise the environmental impact of the Gorgon project, Australia.

Intetech designed tests that exposed the candidate materials to the predicted flowline conditions. The simulated environment was complex and contained mercury, brine and gas with a high carbon dioxide content.
We helped Chevron to select the right material by reporting the theoretical corrosion risks and the laboratory test results, and reviewing the use of materials in comparable field environments.

“Your material-selection report was excellent.”
